Center Console Vinyl Wrap

Like many owners, I wasn’t a big fan of the gloss black center console. I don’t mind the looks so much, but it’s just so easy to scratch. Mine actually came scratched and when the service center tried to replace it, the first replacement was also scratched. Now that I have a close-to-flawless one, I wanted to protect it with a wrap. I decided on Kenriko’s kit from Amazon after he generously offered his template for free on several forums and github. I priced out the time and materials to do it myself and decided that his kit is a better value.

Kenriko has a detailed installation video on his YouTube channel that you should definitely check out before starting. The cupholders are the hardest part and I used both of the included vinyl pieces trying to get it just right. Having a backup included in the kit gives you great peace of mind. I didn’t get some of the edges quite perfect, but I’m satisfied with the results for the price and the time I spent on it.

The cupholder area is the hardest part, but you get a second chance.

I’ve seen some kits with thicker paint protection film that is intended for the exterior of cars. This vinyl is definitely thin and may not be the most durable option, but I think it will be plenty sufficient for the intended application of preventing surface scratches. Check out the video below for more details and check out the kit on Amazon.
