Model 3 No Spare Tire Kit

By May 30, 2018August 28th, 2019No Comments

Like many vehicles today, the Model 3 does not come with a spare tire. While under warranty, it does have roadside assistance to help with a flat tire, but that can be time-consuming and frustrating, especially if the flat tire is simply due to a nail or other puncture in the tire tread.

Sidewall damage is usually not repairable. Call roadside assistance!

Often, even with minor sidewall damage, simply adding air to the tire is enough to limp to a nearby tire-repair shop or at least a safe area.

If the damage is limited to the tread, a tire plug can even last the life of the tire. To prepare for such a situation, we’ve assembled a tire repair kit and an air compressor that look good, don’t rattle, and fit perfectly in the side pocket of the Model 3 trunk.

Compact, doesn’t rattle, and stores neatly in the side pocket of the trunk

The air compressor has a digital display with automatic shut-off. For my 18″ tires, I simply set it to 42 psig, connect it, and let it run until it stops. The tire repair kit has all of the necessary tools to remove a nail, ream the hole, plug the hole, and cut off the excess.
