Wired Phone Dock for Rivian R1T & R1S Lightning and USB-C Charging

The center console wireless charging pad included with the Rivian R1T and R1S hasn’t worked that well for us, so we sourced some USB-C and Lightning cables and created an adapter that works great to charge our phones in the same position as the wireless charging pad – and wireless charging still works for the best of both options!

The USB-C ports in the center console are limited to 15W, so that’s the maximum charging speed of our cables, but they work reliably and efficiently without excessive heating of the battery. Either cable option can be positioned on either side of the center console to mix and match as needed. We tested an array of phones, cases, and accessory combinations and made sure the adapter could move and pivot to accommodate, but combinations are endless. Thankfully, our capabilities with 3D printing are equally endless. Let us know if you’re having issues with fit and we’ll likely be able to adjust to accommodate.

Our kit is designed, printed, and assembled in California by Rivian owners and fans. We strive to reduce our environmental impact by using Prusa 3D printers to make strong parts with internal structures that minimize our use of plastics.

Each dock kit comes with your choice of one USB-C or one Lightning cable and one dock adapter that works in either position. Order two for both sides.

Installation Instructions

1. Open the center console armrest.
2. Orient the dock adapter with the flat side up.
3. Insert the dock adapter into either of the slots under the armrest.
4. Connect the USB-C cable to an outlet in the center console.
5. Close the center console armrest.
6. Connect a phone to the dock and enjoy efficient and reliable wired charging.

Note: Dock adapters can pivot and move to accommodate phones and cases of various sizes and thicknesses.
