This page provides a comprehensive guide for installing the SnapPlate on the Ford F-150 Lightning EV 2022+. Follow the step-by-step instructions to achieve a secure and perfect fit for your vehicle’s front plate.

How to Install the SnapPlate on Ford F-150 Lightning EV 2022+

Installation

  • Step 1

Before installing a license plate, test fit the SnapPlate on the bumper to check for any needed adjustments.

First, press both sliders inward and hold.

  • Step 2

Next, insert SnapPlate into the top of the center bumper opening and release both sliders.

Note: Bumper trim is shown removed from vehicle.

  • Step 3

Pull the sliders outward until they are flush with the vertical bars on the bumper.

If the fit is too tight, make sure it’s at the top of the opening as shown in Step 2. If it’s still too tight, adjust the fit following the Bumper Depth Adjustment instructions. ☝️

  • Step 4

Plate mounts are shipped in the high position by default. If you prefer a different position, follow the Plate Height Adjustment instructions ☝️ to adjust before continuing.

  • Step 5

Install your license plate (and optional side trim) using four of the included black or silver torx security screws.

Note: As of October 2023, side trim has been integrated into the plate mount and is no longer a separate optional part. For legacy versions, see the Side Trim Installation instructions. ☝️

  • Step 6

Press both sliders inward and hold.

  • Step 7

Insert the SnapPlate into the top of the center grille opening and release both sliders.

  • Step 8

Important! Pull the sliders outward to ensure that they are fully secured on the bumper and the magnets are engaged.

  • Step 9

Check that the sliders are in line with the vertical bars on the grille to confirm SnapPlate is secure and the magnets are fully engaged.

  • Step 10

Optionally, install two black washer head anti-theft security screws in the holes on both of the sliders.

Note: If the screw doesn’t reach, make sure the sliders are fully engaged from Step 5.

  • Step 11

Don’t forget to remove SnapPlates for automated car washes. Most touchless washes are fine, but better to be on the safe side!
