Instruction Guide - Cadillac LYRIQ 2023+ SnapPlate

This page provides a step-by-step guide for installing the SnapPlate on the Cadillac LYRIQ. Follow the instructions to ensure secure attachment and an optimal fit with your vehicle’s design.

How to Install the SnapPlate for Cadillac LYRIQ

Installation

  • A rectangular metal wall mount bracket with adjustable sliding mechanisms, labeled tight and loose, designed for securing a device or object to a surface.

    Step 1

The LYRIQ SnapPlate comes adjusted for a loose fit on the grille to ensure that it can be easily attached without requiring adjustment.

However, before you install your license plate on the SnapPlate, we recommend fine tuning the fit to your vehicle and preference following the Grille Depth Adjustment instructions. ☝️

  • Orange screwdriver handle and a double-ended metal screwdriver bit on a white background.

    Step 2

If it’s not already in place, pull the T10/T25 bit from the screwdriver handle and reinstall it with the larger T25 bit facing out.

  • Close-up of a person using a screwdriver to install or remove a license plate on a vehicle.

    Step 3

Install your license plate using four of the included T25 torx security screws.

  • Black plastic frame with four mounting points and directional arrows indicating movement.

    Step 4

Orient the SnapPlate with the “Tighten/Loosen” text right-side up and attach it to the center of the grille in the highest opening.

Note: You can use your thumbs or index fingers to pull the sliders out or simply push the SnapPlate onto the grille. It may help to rock it side to side to engage both sliders.

  • Comparison of two squared dowels in slots: one is not flush with a red thumbs-down icon, and the other is flush with a green thumbs-up icon, illustrating proper alignment.

    Step 5

Double-check that the SnapPlate is securely attached with the sliders on both sides fully engaged. The flat part of both sliders should be flush with the body.

Important! If you can’t securely attach it or it feels loose on the grille after it is attached, remove the license plate and adjust the fit following the Grille Depth Adjustment instructions. ☝️

  • A screwdriver adjusts a screw on a black 3D-printed plastic part, highlighted by an orange circle.

    Step 6 (Optional)

To prevent the SnapPlate from being removed, use the T25 screwdriver to tighten the anti-theft security screws on both sides.

Note: When removing the SnapPlate, the security screws do not need to be fully removed. They can just be loosened until they’re flush with the body.

  • Black license plate frame with mounting bracket, featuring arrows indicating direction for attachment.

    Step 7

Don’t forget to remove SnapPlates for automated car washes. Most touchless washes are fine, but better to be on the safe side!

Grille Depth Adjustment

  • An orange screwdriver handle and a double-ended metal screwdriver bit are placed side by side on a white background.

    Step 1

If it’s not already in place, pull the T10/T25 bit from the screwdriver handle and reinstall it with the larger T25 bit facing out.

  • Black license plate bracket with three arrows pointing outward from the sides and bottom, indicating adjustable mounting directions.

    Step 2

Orient the SnapPlate with the “Tighten/Loosen” text right-side up and attach it to the center of the grille in the highest opening.

Note: You can use your thumbs or index fingers to pull the sliders out or simply push the SnapPlate onto the grille. It may help to rock it side to side to engage both sliders.

  • Side-by-side comparison showing incorrect (not flush) and correct (flush) assembly of two black parts with connected squares, indicated by thumbs-down and thumbs-up icons.

    Step 3

Double-check that the SnapPlate is securely attached with the sliders on both sides fully engaged. The flat part of both sliders should be flush with the body.

  • A screwdriver tightening a screw on a black surface marked with TIGHT and LOOSE instructions, featuring an arrow indicating direction.

    Step 4

Insert the T25 screwdriver into the “Tighten/Loosen” hole in the center of the SnapPlate body.

While slightly moving the SnapPlate to judge for tightness, turn the screwdriver counter-clockwise (lefty-loosey) to tighten it against the grille.

Note: Take care not to overtighten the SnapPlate. The tighter it is, the more difficult it will be to install and remove. Tighten or loosen as needed to find an optimal fit.

  • A gray mounting frame with two adjustable black clips and arrows indicating movement directions.

    Step 5

Use your thumbs or index fingers to pull both sliders out to release the SnapPlate and remove it from the grille.

  • A screwdriver tightening a screw on a license plate, partially showing the word LATE and red cursive letters above.

    Step 6

Repeat Steps 2-5 as needed until you’re satisfied with the fit.
