Frequently Asked Questions

Why would you want to remove a license plate?

Some customers live in areas where it's not always enforced and they prefer the look without, but many customers simply want to permanently mount their license plate without having to use screws or adhesives.

Are SnapPlates car wash safe?

Touchless car washes are generally ok, but a touch wash will grab and pull until something breaks and we don't want that to be the plastic grille on your vehicle.

If touch washes are your priority and you don't want to remove the SnapPlate for it, the license plate mount that came with your vehicle is the best option for you.

If SnapPlate is easy to remove, isn't it easy to steal?

Most license plates are easy to steal when they're installed with simple screws that are easy and quick to remove with power tools.

SnapPlates come with anti-theft security screws to attach the license plate to the SnapPlate and, optionally, to secure the SnapPlate to the vehicle. It can be quick and easy to remove, but only if you want it to be.

Why are SnapPlates made from plastic instead of metal?

SnapPlates attach to the plastic bumper or grille on vehicles. In a worst-case scenario where something pushes or pulls hard enough on the license plate to break something, we'd rather it be the SnapPlate than your vehicle since it's far less expensive and inconvenient to repair.

The clean, minimal design blends perfectly with the Rivian front end when it’s installed and leaves no unsightly hardware behind when it’s removed. Easy to install, good instructions, feels solid, looks great!

Very easy to install especially with the included instructions. Feels solid (it's plastic, but very thick), and it looks as great as a front license plate can!

Mount fit is great and easy to assemble without damaging my R1S or drilling any holes. We recently had it "break away" (snap in half) when my wife bumped the license plate into a snow bank. Vehicle is completely unscathed AND the folks at EveryAmp are kindly replacing it free of charge. As an aside, I definitely recommend removing it if you go through an automated carwash, which takes all of 5 seconds

Great quality product

Quality product. Does what it is designed to do. Quick ship. Had a Gen 1 R1T and the Gen 1 SnapPlate. Wish Rivian did not make a very subtle change that required an updated SnapPlate. Gen 1 or Gen 2.. same quality.

Looking Good!

I installed the SnapPlate front license plate mount on my 2025 Rivian R1T and I was impressed! Good fit, easy to install, and remove if needed. No drilling holes and the actual plate that holds the license plate doesn't touch the front of the bumper. Instructions were easy to follow and the whole installation took less than 15 minutes. Great product!
