Full Self-Driving Price Drop for EAP Owners Now Available

FSD

Matthew Budraitis |

This price drop has been controversial since many people purchased earlier expecting the price of Full Self-Driving to increase and now feel misled. Tesla has a history of offering refunds or free upgrades in similar situations, but it seems that won't be the case this time. I was hoping for the free upgrade, personally.

Since I was originally expecting to have to pay $4000 to upgrade to FSD, the new $2000 price at least meets me halfway. Still, it's frustrating knowing that some people are getting a better deal. With how erratic pricing has been at Tesla lately, I wouldn't count on the price staying the same for long.

In any case, once you pull the trigger, the upgrade option is removed from your account and the Full Self-Driving feature is immediately added to the options section of your Vehicle Page.

Full Self-Driving added to options list

It says it may take up to 3 days for the option to be added to your car, but that's not a big deal really since the FSD features have yet to be released. Stay tuned for more maybe later in 2019. Maybe.
